Our Process
At Appletree ABA, we take the time to develop meaningful relationships with our clients and understand each family’s unique dynamics.
THE PROCESS FOR OBTAINING ABA THERAPY
Our Process
We assess every child’s current level of functioning, prescribe the appropriate set of programs for him or her to begin treatment, and interactively train families and their team of therapists.
1. Gather Information:
We will ask for basic demographic information to learn more about the child and their unique needs. We will ask for a copy of the front and back of the insurance card.
2. Verification of Benefits:
We will run a thorough verification of benefits, get the full details of what is covered, and explain to the family any potential financial responsibility.
3. Submit Documentation: Parent will send us the required paperwork for insurance authorization
Full Copy of the Diagnostic Evaluation indicating a diagnosis of ASD (autism spectrum disorder) (F84.0) and referral/Script for ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy from a medical practitioner.
4. Assessment Authorization:
We will request an authorization from the insurance company for an INITIAL ASSESSMENT. Once approved by the insurance company, we will assign a clinician (LBA) to reach out to schedule an in-person assessment (learner and parent are present).
5. Assessment and Treatment Plan:
An LBA will meet with the learner and parent to assess current strengths and needs, parent concerns and desired outcomes and caregiver goals. They will write up the initial assessment and create a comprehensive treatment plan which will include recommendations for the number of hours of therapy, parent training and direction of the behavior technician.
6. Direct Therapy Authorization:
We will send the initial assessment & treatment plan to the insurance company for their review and authorization of provision of services.
7. Direct Therapy Starts:
Once Appletree ABA receives WRITTEN authorization from the insurance company the assigned LBA will reach out to schedule therapy and services will begin.
